The Wallace Collection, London

Visit on Wednesday 20th October 2010

The Wallace Collection is housed at Hertford House, Manchester Square, London W1U 3BN, just off Oxford Street. The collection was acquired principally in the 19th century by the third and fourth Marquesses of Hertford and Sir Richard Wallace. There are twenty five galleries of unsurpassed displays of French 18th century printing, furniture and porcelain together with superb old master paintings.

Rebecca Drew, who will be giving us a lecture in September on the Wallace Collection, will also give us a one hour guided tour of the museum. We will be able to take lunch in the Cafe Bagatelle and whilst there, Rebecca will give us a short talk on the history of the museum. After our tour we will have some free time before boarding the coach at 4pm for the journey home.

Cost: £21.50 (includes guided tour)
